The Tennis Channel, a 24-hour

historic WTA Tour match between 2004 French Open champion
Anastasia Myskina and fellow Russian Vera Zvonareva, Sunday, Aug.
8, at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. The nearly two-and-a-half-hour battle
took place July 31, during the second semifinal at last weeks
Acura Classic, and featured the longest third-set tiebreak in the
history of the womens tour.
The retelecast of the match was announced today by Bruce Rider,
executive vice president, programming and marketing, The Tennis
Channel.
This opportunity, gives tennis fans across the
country a second chance to witness an immediate classic,
said Rider. Were pleased to be able
to show it again so soon after our original telecast last
Saturday.
The match between these two close friends will be remembered most
for its 32-point third-set tiebreak, which was the longest in WTA
Tour history. Both players had numerous chances to close out the
match, with Zvonareva collecting nine match points, only to have
Myskina save eight of the nine in the third-set tiebreak, and win
on her own fifth match point. The final score was Myskina over
Zvonareva 6-2, 6-7 (4), 7-6 (15).
