International Championships
LOS ANGELES, June

The Tennis Channel, a 24-hour
cable television network devoted to tennis and other racquet
sports, will have live quarterfinal, semifinal and finals
coverage of the Hastings Direct International Championships in
Eastbourne, England, Thursday through Saturday, June 17-19. The
WTA Tour (Women's Tennis Association) grass court event is a warm
up to Wimbledon, the third Grand Slam tournament of the
professional tennis season, if not the game's most hallowed
grounds.
The 2003 Hastings Direct International Championships final saw
the defending champion Chanda Rubin retain her crown against
former Wimbledon champion Conchita Martinez. The 2004 edition
will feature Rubin aiming for her third straight title in
Eastbourne along with 2004 French Open champion Anastasia
Myskina, Maria Sharapova and Jelena Dokic.
