Wraps Up Season With 31 December Launches
LOS ANGELES, December

The Tennis Channel, the 24-hour
cable television network devoted exclusively to tennis and other
racquet sports, wraps up the 2003 tennis season and month of
championship competition with 31 separate channel roll-outs,
reaching 12 states; as well as carriage with VOOM, a direct
broadcast service from Rainbow DBS, Cablevision Systems
Corporation's satellite division. The announcement was made today
by Randy Brown, senior vice president, distribution, The Tennis
Channel.
"The satellite and cable industry have gift-wrapped their
support of The Tennis Channel's programming mission, and we
couldn't be more thankful. This is an incredible amount of launch
activity concentrated in one month and a great way to wrap up an
awesome season of tennis competition," said Brown. "We're
delivering our sport to more tennis fans than ever and driving
tune-in during the holidays. We look forward to building upon
this momentum well into 2004."
The Tennis Channel has been available on VOOM since the high-definition
broadcast service launched on October 15, 2003. By February 2004,
VOOM will offer 39 high-definition channels to consumers across
the continental United States, including the exclusive VOOM
package of 21, commercial-free channels created by Rainbow Media
Holdings LLC such as: Rush - heart-pounding, in-your-face,
extreme sports like skydiving, snowboarding, surfing and
skateboarding; WorldSport - intense sporting competitions around
the globe, from world-class soccer in Spain to Grand Prix Sailing
in New Zealand; and Monsters - a channel that takes scary movies
to the next level with the power of HD.

On December 1, 2003, The Tennis Channel launched on Time Warner
in Kerrville, Texas; on Bright House in Marion, Ind.; on Grande
in Austin, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Odessa-Midland and Waco,
all in Texas; and on Time Warner in Gonzalez, Texas. Also on
December 1, NTS Communications in Lubbock, Texas, begins carriage
of The Tennis Channel.
Additional launches of The Tennis Channel on Time Warner in
December include: Houma (Dec. 2) and LaPlace (Dec. 3), La.;
Raleigh, N.C. (Dec. 4); Dothan, Ala. (Dec. 4); Fayetteville, N.C.
(Dec. 4), Lake City (Dec. 15), Live Oak (Dec. 15), St. Augustine
(Dec. 16), Cape Coral (Dec. 17), all in Fla.; Terra Haute, Ind. (Dec.
22); and, Lincoln, Neb. (Dec. 31).
The Tennis Channel is launching on Adelphia Communications in
Cleveland, Ohio (Dec. 16), in Cartersville, Canton, and Cumming,
Ga. (late Dec.), and in Colorado Springs, Colo. (12.31). The
channel is also launching on RCN in Boston (Dec. 15); on Cox
Cable in Middle Georgia (Dec. 17); on Urban Cableworks of
Philadelphia (Dec. 23); on Buckeye Cable in Toledo, Ohio (Dec. 31);
on Lexcom in Lexington, N.C. (Dec. 31); and in Sandusky, Ohio, on
Erie County Cable (Dec. 31).
The December launch activity follows a productive November for
The Tennis Channel.
During the second half of November, The Tennis Channel launched
on Time Warner Cable in Nederland, Texas (Nov. 15); Columbus,
Ohio (Nov. 17); San Antonio, Texas (Nov. 18); Wichita Falls,
Texas (Nov. 20). Additionally, in November, The Tennis Channel
partnered with Insight Communications, the ninth-largest cable
operator in the United States, to accomplish the first launch in
a 10-year agreement, on Insight's digital tier in the Louisville,
Ky., area. Also last month, the eight-month-old channel
introduced itself to viewers in the New York market by rolling
out a series of launches on Time Warner Cable.
